Key takeaways
- In Jobber: Clients → More Actions → Export Clients → CSV. The file arrives by email.
- In Lume: Clients page → Import. You check the preview, duplicates and errors included, before anything goes in.
- With the Autopilot plan, the Lume team handles onboarding and the import for free.
- Keep Jobber active for a few weeks to finish the jobs and invoices already in progress.
You use Jobber and want to switch to Lume, field service software built in Quebec, in English and French, priced in Canadian dollars. Good news: your clients come with you in a few minutes. Here's how to do it, in order.
To be transparent: this guide is published by Lume. The Jobber steps come from Jobber's official help center, checked on October 28, 2026.
Before you start
- Pick your moment. Ideally between seasons or at the start of a quiet week, not in the middle of your busiest one.
- Don't cancel Jobber right away. Keep it active until the jobs and invoices already started are done.
- Make sure you're an admin on the Jobber account: only an admin can export clients.
Step 1: export your clients from Jobber
According to Jobber's help center:
- Go to the Clients tab.
- Click More Actions, then Export Clients.
- Choose CSV.
- Jobber emails you the file.
A few useful details:
- Only want some of your clients? Click a tag first, then choose CSV.
- Above 1,500 clients, Jobber sends several files in the same email. Keep them all.
- The export includes contact details, property addresses, tags and custom fields.
Step 2: import the file into Lume
- In Lume, open the Clients page and click Import.
- Drop in the CSV file from Jobber, as is.
- Check the preview. Lume shows you duplicates and errors first.
- Approve. Nothing goes into your client list until you approve it; the Lume team then does the final import.
The import button is reserved for the owner and admins of the Lume account.
With the Autopilot plan, you don't even have to do it yourself: onboarding and the import are free, and the Lume team transfers your data with you.
Step 3: set up your services and prices
Your client list is in Lume. Now add what you use every day:
- your services and their prices, to build a quote in a few clicks;
- your taxes (GST, and QST in Quebec);
- your crew, so they see their day on their phone;
- your quote follow-ups and payment reminders.
Step 4: the overlap period
For a few weeks, you run both:
- Everything new goes through Lume: new quotes, new jobs, new invoices.
- Whatever is already started finishes in Jobber: jobs in progress and invoices already sent.
Once nothing is left open in Jobber, you can cancel your subscription.
What you gain by switching to Lume
- French and English everywhere, for you, your crew and your clients. According to its FAQ, Jobber's app is in English and Spanish.
- Pricing in Canadian dollars. Jobber bills in US dollars.
- Bigger teams for the price: Autopilot includes 20 users for CA$495 per month.
- Built-in door-to-door sales, with a territory map and a rep leaderboard.
- A $15/month standby plan for the off-season.
Monthly plans have no commitment, and the annual plan comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. For the full comparison, see the Jobber alternative page or our comparison of field service software in Canada.
